This R.A. covers housing on both sides of Cheam Road around Ewell East Station,
forming the south and east half of Nonsuch Ward.
For many years the residents of this residential area have elected Residents' Association candidates to the Borough Council and to the County Council.
On the edge of the area is Nonsuch Park. This open area of some 400 acres has been an amenity to be enjoyed by residents of the Ward, the Borough and the surrounding area since it came into public ownership in 1937. The park is run by a Joint Management Committee which consists of councillors from Epsom and Ewell Borough Council and the London Borough of Sutton, and the park has been finaced by these two authorities for the last 70 years.
Howell Hill Residents' Association is a non-political body which aims to safeguard and improve the interests of the residents within the area, and the amenities of the Borough as a whole. It fully supports the Residents Association ideal of keeping Epsom and Ewell free from national party politics by a system of local people helping local people in the community.
All the councillors for Nonsuch Ward live in the ward and have done so for more than 20 years. They are local people who have local interests at heart. Through the Residents' Associations they are able to keep closely in touch with the needs and views of local people.
