| Ewell Court R.A. is in the northern part of the Borough, and its membership includes households on both sides of the Kingston Road, at the top end of Ruxley Lane, and the community based around Ewell Court House. It extends to the Borough boundary with Kingston, and its southern boundary is the picturesque Hogsmill River and its associated open space.
So what is the Ewell Court Residents' Association?Ewell Court Residents' Association (ECRA) is the coming togther of local people to work for the improvement of Ewell Court Ward and to promote the interests of local Ewell Court residents.Anyone can be a member of ECRA and subscriptions are paid annually based on each household, so that all family members living in a subscribing house are members. Currently over 90% of households in Ewell Court are members of the Association. Each year, in the spring, an Annual General Meeting takes place at which those wishing to take a more active role are elected to serve on the ECRA Committee. Currently, there are 17 Committee members, including a Chairman, Secretary, Minute Secretary, Treasurer and Magazine Editors. With such a high membership rate and large Committee, ECRA is a very active and ethusiastic association. ECRA also has a Social Section that organises regular theatre trips to London and other excursions. In addition, once-a-month Bingo sessions take place in Ewell Court House In support of its aims "to safeguard and promote the interests of residents and encourage them to take an active part in local affairs", ECRA sponsors three Councillors on Epsom and Ewell Borough Council. Jean, Jonathon and Eber all live in the ward and are active in dealing with the day-to-day issues that concern our residents. For details of how to contact any one of our councillors, see below. Ewell Court Residents' Association was founded in 1938 and ECRA councillors have represented local people on Epsom and Ewell Borough Council throughout that time. The Association is not party political, but it does believe that by getting involved in local elections it can help to make a real difference to the quality of people's lives. So maybe, having read about ECRA, you too might want to get involved. CouncillorsEber Kington Jonathon Reed Jean Smith Officers
